I’m linking-up with DC area bloggers Courtney at Eat Pray Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What?!, and Mar at Mar on the Run again today! This week’s theme is 5 Fall Races.
Today we’re chatting about fall races! Here’s what I have planned these upcoming months…
- Navy Air Force Half Marathon, September 20th This will be my very first half and my longest distance run to date. Less than three weeks to go!
- Clarendon Day 10K, September 26th Clarendon Day includes a 10K/5K double, but since it falls six days after the Navy Air Force Half, I might just stick to the 10K. But who knows? Maybe I’ll surprise myself!
- Baltimore Running Festival Half Marathon, October 17th I’ve been thinking about this for several weeks, and I think I’ve decided to run another half marathon this fall. This one sounds like the winner! I’m still holding out on registering, but I’ll have to bite the bullet soon.
- Marine Corps Marathon 10K, October 25th I’ll be racing the 10K, and then heading over to the marathon finish line to see Alex become a marathoner!
- Smoke the Turkey 5K, November 26th This was the only race I was able to run in 2014, and I’m excited to see what a year of running does to my time!
Which races are you running this fall? What else are you looking forward to this fall? (Changing leaves, apple picking, and dressing in layers)
See you at Clarendon Day! The Baltimore Running Festival should be fun since its their 15th Anniversary 🙂 Nice schedule!

I will be cheering for my daughter at the MCM, and will be running the NYC Marathon a few weeks later. You have a great fall list of races!

NYC will be an incredible experience! I cheered on one of my best friends there last year. It’s great to be a cheerleader and not a participant sometimes 🙂

I’m running two local half marathons (one in September, one in October)… maybe a second one in October as part of a training run… and then NYCM in November, a 5K the following weekend and a half two weeks later, and finishing out my fall running with a 5 Miler Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving! I got lots of running to do !

Great list. I’m not running any of these, but I love finding other races to run in the DC area. The Navy Air Force Half is high on my list to run, because it looks like a great race.

I’ve heard good things! I’ve seen runners on the course a couple times before, and it’ll be nice to be one of them this year. DC is a beautiful place for a race! The Army 10 Miler and Marine Corps Marathon/10K are other race options.

I do have a full fall running schedule on top of training for my 1st marathon in January, but I’m also looking forward to a quick trip we are taking with another couple to the Angola Prison Rodeo, it’s very interesting!

How great! It’s so nice to look forward to an upcoming trip. I’ll also be training for my first marathon this winter (for April). Best of luck in your training/fall races!
